Oatmeal raisin cookies are one sort of cookie that I modified to be a little healthier than usual.

I’ve cooked these several times since inventing the recipe. These oat cookies are also healthy because they are prepared with:

Making Oatmeal Cookies

  1. In a blender or grinder jar, combine 13 cups of sugar (60 grams).
  2. Finely powder the ingredients. Set aside. You may also use 13 cups + 2 tbsp powdered sugar or castor sugar from the shop.

  4. If you’re using an OTG, turn both the top and heating elements on (toast mode). Preheat convection ovens for 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit).
  5. In a mixing basin, combine 12 cups of whole wheat flour or atta (60 to 70 grams). 13 cups of cold unsalted butter is also recommended (50 grams).
  6. Cut the butter into the flour with a knife to create a bread crumb texture. You may alternatively use your fingertips to combine the cold butter and flour until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
  7. A stand mixer can also be used instead. If the butter begins to melt, place the mixture in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes.
  8. The powdered sugar comes next.
  9. After that, stir in 14 teaspoon cinnamon powder and 14 teaspoon vanilla extract. Instead of vanilla extract, use 18 teaspoon vanilla essence.

  11. 12 cup rolled oats (60 grams) and 2 tablespoons of golden raisins are then added.
  12. Mix well once more.
  13. Now, gradually add 2 to 4 tablespoons of chilled (cold) milk. The amount of milk used will be determined by the kind and grade of whole wheat flour used. As a result, add proportionately.
  14. Mix and bring the contents together until it forms a dough. Do not knead the dough.
  15. Simply add enough milk in little amounts to thoroughly combine and bind the mixture. The cookie batter will be quite sticky.
  16. Now, using a tablespoon or other spoon, scoop out the dough.
  17. Place the scooped dough on the oiled baking sheet. Allow 1.5 to 2 inches of spacing between cookies.

  19. Gently press the top of each oatmeal biscuit with a spatula to level it out and smooth it out.

Baking

Place the cookie pan in the center rack of a preheated oven. Bake oat cookies for 12 to 14 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit), or until lightly golden.

Keep an eye on the oven temperature because it varies. Depending on the oven model, size, and heating type, the timing can be reduced or increased.

  1. After baking, let the tray outdoors for 2–3 minutes.
  2. Then, using a spatula, carefully remove the oatmeal cookies and lay them on a wired rack to cool completely at room temperature.

Suggestions and Substitutes

  • Oatmeal: You may use fast cooking or instant oats, but use less milk in the dough.
  • Use all-purpose flour for a lighter texture in the cookies. A sprinkle of baking soda will help make the texture lighter.
  • Vegan alternatives include vegan butter, almond milk, or light coconut milk.
  • Instead of raisins, you might add dried berries (cranberries, blues, blackberries), chocolate chips, or nuts like cashews, pecans, almonds, pine nuts, or pistachios. Avoid using raisins with seeds.
  • Sugar: Powdered white granulated sugar can be used in the recipe. 13 cups + 2 tablespoons castor sugar, 13 cups brown sugar, or 13 cups maple syrup can also be used. There is no need to powder brown sugar.
